I THINK NOT EVERYONE SHOULD MAKE FAMILIES

GET THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB TO CREATE REVIT® FAMILIES

Choose your content creator well. They need to be meticulous, patient and methodical in temperament in order to be suitable for creating Revit® content. They need to be one of the BEST and MOST experienced Revit® modelers in the office. If you really want good quality content then I can’t stress enough how important it is to make sure your content is created in a professional and consistent manner.

There are several factors that can negatively affect the quality of a Revit® family namely;

  • lack of knowledge,
  • carelessness or
  • new Revit® users being given the task of creating families when they have too little experience in Revit®.

  1. Couldn’t agree more with this.

    • Hi Jose
      You’d be surprised how much resistance there has been amongst my peers to this concept. I think some are finally seeing my point. I dont see how large firms can keep libraries in check without such a hard line approach. Thanks for your response.
